ABOUT
Vocalist
After a two year run in the Broadway musical Dance With Me, and appearances in many Off - Broadway productions, Deborah Massa made the decision to focus on her first love - singing.  Throughout her vocal career, she has appeared in numerous venues; from the New York studio recording scene and the Atlantic City Casinos, to the World Cafe Live and Kimmel Center in Philadelphia. Gifted in all musical genres, her love for jazz has spawned collaborations with many talented musicians, all of whom praise her gift of precise intonation and pureness of tone.  Her appreciation of the classical jazz form is evident, as is her lyrical interpretation of jazz standards.

The Monday Blues Jazz Orchestra, a 21 piece big band whose concert career spans over 40 years in the Philadelphia tri-state area, is booked through 2016!  Thanks to all of my friends in the orchestra for such a fun ride....nothing compares to singing in front of this talented group of musicians!

Sharing the stage again with two amazing players in 2016....trumpeter David Laich, and bassist Mark Amentt!

....still thinking about exploring jazz manouche....anyone interesting in joining me?.....tiple? accordion? beret?

Bass and a Face
........Vince Gilligo and I performed as a jazz duo with bass and vocal....and they said it could't be done! Ye of little faith......

The Musicopia benefit concert with bassist Gerald Veasley was a huge success......how fortunate to share a project with such an inspiring and gracious performer.

What an honor to perform with jazz drummer Paul Albrecht and legendary saxophonist Pete Souders, former owner of Ortlieb's.

A special thank-you to the devoted family and friends who support all of my musical projects.  To my husband Mike, and my dear children Michael and Alex--you are loved beyond words.  Mom and Dad--you are missed.....
